How COVID-19 has affected us and the WordPress Community?

At first, WordCamp Asia was canceled and also our trip plans, fortunately, our colleague who still decided to travel to Asia for the conference and attended the informal event was strong enough to protect himself against the coronavirus.

Yesterday, also WordCamp Europe postponed the conference for 2021. We were looking forward to the conference as it was the biggest team building event for us. But we all understand the decision of the organizers and they have our support. They announced that the ticket refunds process will be automatically, no need for manual request.

Еven our regular monthly Meetup with the WordPress community was rescheduled. Тhe community has agreed to maintain an online Q&A session.

Unfortunately, our country is also affected by Coronavirus. Although we love in house working with colleagues, having close communication, drinking coffee together, and making the whole working process even more interesting and more productive, we’ve decided, to work remotely this period.

In the interest of public health, we are actively following the recommendations of our state’s Ministry of Health, and we have adapted our work to ensure the safe and smooth operation of our projects.

At the moment, Our office is where are we. At home.

Оur general attitude is to stay safe, motivated and positivе. We see this as a challenge to stay productive and connected. With this post, we want to encourage ourselves and talk only about the benefits of working from home while this crisis is going on.

Benefits of working from home

1. If we are not bound by the deadline, we have the freedom to work as we please. Working hours are flexible, and we are closer to our family.
2. Most of our colleagues come from other cities and this period will save time for transportation. The time they spent traveling to their workplace can now be used wisely and complete the tasks they have
3. Wear comfortable clothes. You don’t need to combine pieces of clothing. Wear clothes that make you feel good and free.

How to stay disciplined while working from home

Working from home is not for everyone. It’s easy to get distracted when you’re the boss when it comes to time management.

Here are some tips on how to stay focused and disciplined while working from home:

Make a schedule

Although many think the ability to change routines is an advantage in working from home (and it’s really great to be able to go to the dentist’s appointment in the middle of the day), it’s still best to stick to a fairly accurate schedule.

Keep moving at least every hour

Not only will it help you stretch your legs and improve blood circulation while taking coffee from the kitchen, but it will also help you regain concentration. Also, do not forget to drink water. It will move you further.

Eat healthy

In addition to helping you maintain a healthy weight, eating healthy foods helps to gain energy and focus.

Turn off all social media so you aren’t interrupted by unnecessary notifications.
